Itinerary
Upon arrival at Casablanca airport, you will be met by your driver and taken for a short city orientation, including an exterior visit to the Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world. Continue to Rabat, Morocco’s capital city, to explore the Hassan Tower, Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the charming Oudayas Kasbah. Overnight in Rabat.
After breakfast, travel north toward Chefchaouen, known as the “Blue Pearl” of Morocco. The scenic drive passes through green hills, agricultural fields, and small mountain villages. Upon arrival, stroll through the medina’s winding, blue-washed streets, visit the Kasbah Museum, and take in panoramic views from the Spanish Mosque. Overnight in Chefchaouen.
In the morning, enjoy a relaxed breakfast before departing for Fes. The route takes you through rolling hills and rural landscapes. Arrive in the historic city of Fes and settle into your traditional riad. Depending on your arrival time, you may explore some nearby souks or enjoy a quiet evening in the medina. Overnight in Fes.
Spend a full day discovering Fes with a licensed local guide. Highlights include the ancient medina (a UNESCO World Heritage site), the Bou Inania Madrasa, the colorful Chouara Tannery, and the Karaouiyine Mosque and University, one of the oldest in the world. Depart early for a long but scenic drive south toward the Sahara Desert. Pass through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane, nicknamed “Little Switzerland,” and the cedar forests of Azrou. Continue through Midelt and the lush Ziz Valley before reaching Erfoud and finally Merzouga. In the late afternoon, take a camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes to watch the sunset. Dinner and overnight in a desert camp under the stars.
Wake up early to witness the sunrise over the dunes, then return to Merzouga by camel. Continue your journey through Rissani and Tinghir, stopping at the dramatic Todra Gorges with their sheer limestone cliffs.
