6 days tour from Fes to Marrakech

Depart from Fes in the morning, passing through Ifrane and the cedar forests of Azrou where you may see Barbary macaques. Continue across the Middle Atlas Mountains through Midelt, then follow the lush Ziz Valley south to reach Merzouga in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at a riad/hotel near the dunes.

Spend the day exploring the Sahara. Visit Khamlia village to enjoy Gnawa music, meet nomadic families in the desert, or explore seasonal lakes and oases. Optional quad biking, dune buggies, or sandboarding can be arranged. Evening camel trek into the dunes to watch the sunset, followed by dinner, drumming, and overnight in a desert camp under the stars.

Wake up early for a magical sunrise in the Sahara, then return by camel or 4x4. Continue to Rissani, where you can explore its traditional market, and then pass through Erfoud, known for fossils and dates. Arrive at the spectacular Todra Gorge, with its towering cliffs, before ending the day in the Dades Valley for dinner and overnight in a charming guesthouse or riad.

After breakfast, drive through the Dades Valley and into the Valley of Roses, famous for its spring rose festival and artisanal rosewater. Continue to Skoura, an oasis filled with palm groves and historic kasbahs. Arrive in Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Morocco,” where you can visit the film studios or Kasbah Taourirt. Overnight in Ouarzazate.

This day focuses on Morocco’s kasbahs and mountain scenery. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, one of the most iconic ksars in Morocco and filming location for many movies and series. Then take a scenic detour to the Telouet Kasbah, once an important stop on the old caravan route. Continue through the High Atlas Mountains and overnight in a mountain village or near the Tizi n’Tichka Pass.

After breakfast, complete the journey by crossing the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, the highest road in Morocco, with breathtaking views of the High Atlas range. Arrive in Marrakech by midday or afternoon, where the tour ends with drop-off at your riad/hotel.
